Chose the wrong guy, Gave Him the Wrong Finger

Currently Reading:  Chose the Wrong Guy, Gave Him the Wrong Finger by Beth Harbison

What a great title.  I have read other books by this author just because I loved the title and/or the cover.   I should know better.  I had read previously, "When in doubt, add butter".  The title was catchy, the story sounded interesting but the writing was sort of blah.  I read it.  I finished it.  If it had been truly horrible, I would not have finished.  So, I hadn't realized this was the same author but I couldn't resist when I saw a review of the book here at Blogging for a good book.  They liked the book more than I did (am).  I am about half way through the book and am skipping over paragraphs and skimming the pages to make the book go faster.

This is the story of Quinn who is told, 5 minutes before her wedding, that her fiancĂ©, Burke, has been cheating on her weeks even days before the wedding.  She leaves Burke at the alter and then proceeds to spend 3 crazy days in Vegas with Frank, the fellow who tattled on Burke.  We don't get the details of the days in Vegas but only that the sex was hot even though she was really drunk the whole time.... Hmmm.  The catch is that Frank is Burke's brother and has been 'secretly' in love with Quinn for. ever.   Everyone parts ways and now it is 10 years later.

Dottie, the brothers' grandmother, is getting married.    Quinn is making the wedding dress and the threesome are reunited.  Sparks fly,  passionate kisses abound and declarations are made.

The heroine is unappealing to me.  She has no pizazz.  Even her best friend, gay Glenn says so and is trying desperately to liven her up by giving her a daily challenge such as 'going commando'.

Nothing comes of these situations.
There is no mirth or excitement.

Frank and Burke sound interesting but I can't see why they would want Quinn.

There is so much potential!  A bit more wackiness would be nice.

So far, 2 out of 5 stars.
